During these times of uncertainty, BOWs will pivot our strategy to help best suit the needs of the North Charleston, SC community.
At the beginning of the COVID crisis, our center remained open to serve families in the neighborhood. Children were able to connect with their teachers via Xoom from September 8, 2020, until the last day of school on June 18, 2021.
A Charleston County School District Teacher was assigned to assist BOWs staff and volunteers in order to best keep the children up to date with curriculum benchmarks and assignments. The learning and social events were fun, safe and provided an opportunity to meet new neighbors during the school year.
